Lifestyle newborn photography is becoming my favorite way to capture newborns.
With no props, wrapping or posing involved I get to really capture those emotions between a newborn and their family. A lifestyle session with me is a very relaxing and natural process. I come to you home, so there’s no need to leave the comfort of your house for photos! This type of session takes anywhere from an hour to two and we get a lot of pictures for your final gallery.
And though we get some cute “posed” shots during a lifestyle shoot, my main focus is capturing that raw emotion. The emotional bond between new parents and their little one.
2 weeks ago I shot this session for baby Bradley and his parents. He was the sweetest little boy and I had so much fun capturing him.
Having just had my fourth child 3 months ago, I know how fast they grow. How fast their little cheeks get chubbier and how fast that startle reflex disappears. It’s almost overnight they just don’t look like newborns anymore and more like big babies. I always tell my clients, especially first time parents, to enjoy this time. Because very soon they’ll be bigger. They’ll start rolling, laughing, crawling and before you know it they’ll be one.
As moms of newborns we go through so much change. Not just with the addition of a new baby but also within ourselves and our bodies. Sometimes taking pictures of our babies is the last thing on our mind and including ourselves in those pictures is not something we even think about.
This is why professional newborn photography is so important. Do your research and choose a photographer for their art, this isn’t a place you want to find the best bargain. These are pictures you’ll cherish for the rest of your life.
